Introduction
I pride myself on a friendly, common-sense approach to help you make the change you want and need. People are often apprehensive about starting therapy, but I hope that the following information will help allay your fears, answer your questions, address some common misconceptions, giving you an insight into my practice and the way in which I empower the people I work alongside.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a NICE approved
talking therapy proven to effectively treat many common mental health
difficulties and much more.
CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, behaviour
and feelings are interconnected. Therapy supports individuals to be more aware
of the vicious cycles that unhelpful patterns of thoughts or behaviour can
create. Making changes to these patterns to positively impact the way we feel
both emotionally and physically.
